Born and raised in Palmira (tachira , Venezuela) Ruggery is a visual artist whose work fuses pop art with identity, emotion, and color. He paint to tell stories my own and those of the people around me, through symbols, textures, and vibrant contrasts. My work reflects themes such as migration, culture, freedom, and memory, with an accessible, modern, and emotionally charged visual approach. For me, art is a way to connect, heal, and transform the everyday into something powerful and meaningful.
He studied geography and earth sciences at the Universidad de los Andes in Venezuela and has been based in the United States, Atlanta, since 2015. His ability in the visual arts is innate. He is the third of four siblings and from a young age showed a natural inclination for art, beginning to draw on his own without taking formal classes or attending an art school. His passion for drawing grew over the years, becoming a personal form of expression and a self-taught journey that led him to develop his own unique style.
In 2022, he produced the documentary "Art Crosses Borders and Unites Friendships" together with the MundoNow team. The documentary focuses on his life and artistic work. This project was awarded the Gold Telly Award in the Art & Entertainment category for Best Social Video at the 44th Annual Telly Awards. For the same documentary, he also received a nomination at the 49th Southeast Regional Emmy® Awards in 2023 in the category of Human Interest/Lifestyle – News.
Ruggery Sánchez had the honor of creating custom murals for two major brands: Lyft and Keller Williams Realty. For Lyft, he developed a series of vibrant murals that reflected the energy and human connection that defines the company. Each piece was designed to capture the spirit of mobility, inclusion, and community, creating a visual space that invited interaction. On the other hand, with Keller Williams Realty, Sánchez created murals that blended art with the company’s business vision and He has had the opportunity to showcase his art at the Coca-Cola headquarters in Atlanta.
